The Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASoW) is a professional organization of social workers in Nigeria. NASoW has Members across the 36 states of the Federation. NASoW provides capacity building for stakeholders, advocacy, community engagements, guidance, research, and other resources for its members and for social workers and Researchers at large. Members of the NASoW are also able to obtain members-only publications, discounts on other products and services from the National body. HISTORY AND ESTABLISHMENT NASoW was founded in the year 1975 and it was legally registered by the duo of Dr. Ojesina and Mr. Olaleye who were Medical Social Workers at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan. The duo, along with other Social Workers among whom are Alhaji Zakari Musa, Chief Erinle and Mr. Hameed, registered NASoW on the 11th of August 1992, as the recognized professional umbrella body for Social Workers in Nigeria. The association has undergone several tremendous transformations since it was founded. NASoW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
