MODUPEOLA SAHID-ADEBAMBO
Modupeola Sahid-Adebambo is a Social Worker of over 25 years of practice and a resource person in the areas of community engagements, capacity building for stakeholders on various social issues, particularly issues of Child Safeguarding and Protection, Humanitarian Services and Gender Based Violence.
She is a graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, where she bagged a B.A. major in Philosophy and a minor in Sociology. She then went on to the Lagos State University for her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW). She is also a graduate of AIG Public Leadership Programme from the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. She is currently a Doctorate student in Social Work (DSW) at the Lagos State University.
She joined the Lagos State Civil Service in 2000, and has served in different capacities on the job. Modupeola Sahid-Adebambo is currently the Director of the Adoption Services Department, Ministry of Youth and Social Development.
As a result of her commitment to social and humanitarian services, she has volunteered for humanitarian work in different capacities and also served on the board of different Non-Profits in Nigeria which provide emergency protection services for children and also support for families, communities and vulnerable children who have experienced different forms of abuse and hardship. The support provided by these NGOs include support for birth registration, nutritional support, counselling services, early childhood trauma management, psychosocial support, capacity building for stakeholders, public enlightenment and community engagements, all of which Modupeola always played leadership roles in.
On the 25th of April 2025, she was sworn in as the Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Social Workers, Lagos State Chapter. Modupeola is dynamic, resilient, hardworking, a good leader and a team player. Her expertise and many years of experience make her a good fit for this role.
